2023 Assessment

On April 21, 2023, the South Carolina Life & Accident & Health Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors met, and assessments were voted as follows:

No Class A assessment.

Class B assessments approved:

NC Mutual Life	$25,000,000	91% Life 9% Annuity
Southland National Life	$3,000,000	100% Life
Bankers Life	$14,000,000	100% Annuity
Colorado Bankers Life	$36,000,000	63% Life 37% Annuity

The approved assessments are not being called at this time. We anticipate Bankers Life and Colorado Bankers Life will not be called until 2024. Subject to Association needs to fund claims, NC Mutual Life and Southland National Life may be called late in 2023. Assessments are based on one year premiums. For NC Mutual, based on 2021 premiums, for Southland National, based on 2022 premiums.
