2024 Assessment

The Board of the SCLAHIGA has voted and is calling assessments for the following:

• North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company, insolvent 10/31/2022, $4,400,000 based on 2021 life premiums.
• Southland National Life Insurance Company, insolvent 5/2/2023, $1,800,000 based on 2022 life premiums.
• Bankers Life Insurance Company, insolvent 11/30/24, $9,800,000 based on 2023 annuity premiums.
• Colorado Bankers Life Insurance Company, insolvent 11/30/24, $10,180,156 based on 2023 annuity premiums, and $2,819,844 based on 2023 life premiums.

The invoices were sent to the email on file for member companies on 11/6/24 and payment is
due not later than 12/6/24.

PAYMENT IS DUE NOT LATER THAN DECEMBER 6, 2024
LATE PAYMENT: Under Article 4.G.6 of the Plan of Operation, the
Board of Directors shall impose a penalty of one (1%) percent of the
late assessment per week, or any part thereof, which shall be applied
to the member’s assessment. The imposition of this late charge by
the Association is separate and distinct from the powers of the
Director of Insurance, pursuant to Section 38-29-100 of the Code, to
suspend or revoke the certificate of authority of or to penalize a
company which fails to pay an assessment when due.
